Roll ‘em Back!
Auto insurance rates for many Wisconsin families are rising because new insurance requirements were forced on consumers in the state budget last July.
The consumer outcry against these costly changes has been so great, legislators are considering rolling back some or all of the mandates to help families and small businesses control their budgets.

Rollback Bill Introduced!
Consumers would be protected from all the costly requirements passed last year under a roll back bill introduced by Republicans in the state Assembly in October. Assembly Bill 525 (PDF) would roll back all of the changes passed that began increasing insurance rates on November bills. The same bill was introduced in the state Senate as Senate Bill 386 (PDF).
Affordable Auto Insurance Act Introduced!
Many of the most costly new auto insurance requirements would be rolled back under the Affordable Auto Insurance Act (Senate Bill 646 (PDF)). This bill has broad support and would be a big improvement over the costly requirements passed in the 2009 budget and provides consumers with greater choices for insurance coverage.
